Stolen Brides of the Fae Content Reviews

I don’t know about you, but I love a good passionate romance that sucks you in and makes you swoon but doesn’t leave you feeling … well … uncomfy with the details, shall we say. Now when we talk about clean reads, that phrase can leave a large gap between what I deem clean and what you deem clean.

The Stolen Brides of the Fae series was marketed as a clean series and for the most part, I’d agree with that statement. But like the range of what we like to eat and drink, what we wear, and what activities we enjoy, so comes the different tiers of clean romance.

So here is my rating system of determining what is a clean read:

Plot -

1 star (boring and disengaging) to 5 stars (very engaging and fun!)

Characters -

1 star (boring and disengaging) to 5 stars (very engaging and fun!)

Language content -

1 (no language)

2 (light language and/or made-up language for that world)

3 (heavy language)

Sexual content -

0 (no sexual content)

1 (light kisses)

2 (passionate kisses but little detail)

3 (passionate kissing with description)

4 (fade to black)

5 (descriptive sex scene)

So here we go with my content reviews for the eight books of The Stolen Brides of the Fae series!

Stolen Goblin Bride

By Emma Hamm

Plot - Honestly, this plot was very slow and rather boring. So I will give this a two star rating for plot.

Characters - I liked Lux (the main guy), but Esther (the main girl) was whiny and rather annoying. She acted extremely immature and selfish. So I give the characters an overall of two stars as well.

Language Content - two out of three. A handful of the D word and a few H words as well.

Sexual Content - three out of five. There is a kiss near the end that is a little overly descriptive. It wasn't horrible, but I did squirm a little at it because of the description.

Overall Rating - three out of five stars.

Stolen Mage Bride

By Sylvia Mercedes

Plot - This stories plot was AMAZING! The idea that the characters were fated lovers, but enemies just sucked me in. A five star plot if I've ever read one!

Characters - I loved Lodírhal and Dasyra a lot. I read this book in under two days. They were so swoon worthy and well developed. However, Lodírhal was a bit broody and then switched his opinion rather quickly. Granted, it is a novella, so that could have been part of the pacing. So, I give them an overall four stars out of five.

Language Content - this was also a two star for made up language. They says gods and hells as they have multiple deities in their world.

Sexual Content - two out of five. The kisses are quite passionate, but there's no overly descriptive and I didn't find myself squirming. They're definitely attracted to each other, but nothing horrible.

Other notes - While this story does deal with magic, I found that it didn't bother me as they're in a different world. However, I know that that kind of thing does bother people, so I decided to leave a note here. Lodírhal's magic is from a well. Dasyra is a mage, but also has the spirit of a warrior that she is the vessel for.

Overall Rating - five out of five stars.

Stolen Midsummer Bride

By Tara Grayce

Plot - So this is apparently a retelling of A Midsummer Night's Dream, however it's a bit jarring when you're first dropped into the world. But the more I read, the more I fell in love with the world. So I give it four out of five.

Characters - AH! Seriously, Tara always has the sweetest and best characters. Basil, Buddy, and Meg were so wonderful, and I love them all so very much. (Especially Buddy!)

Language Content - a one. Tara never has language in her books and I appreciate it so much.

Sexual Content - one. Light kisses with little details but still swoon worthy.

Overall Rating - five out of five stars.

Stolen Shadow Bride

By S.M. Gaither

Plot - I really enjoyed this plot. The idea of stealing the wrong bride was so fun. There were also a number of really cute scenes between the two MCs that made me so happy.

Characters - I loved, loved, loved these characters! Sephia and Tarron were just so adorable and swoon worthy. While Sephia was a little too headstrong for me, she was still fun. I give them a four out of five for their personalities.

Language Content - two. Light language (D word mostly) and gods is used as well.

Sexual content - this is why this book was rated so low for me. There were a number of passionate kisses, which normally doesn't bother me - but it was one scene where they almost ... do it. They stop, but the discomfort they give me lowered my love of this book a lot. It was too close for comfort, and the fact that the couple weren't married yet bugged me. (They were considered engaged).

Overall Rating - three out of five stars.

Stolen Ice Bride

By Angela J. Ford

Plot - I loved the idea of this story. A secret that not even the MC knows, a handsome ice mage who steals her for his own agenda, a fight between good and evil. It was so good!

Five out of five.

Characters - really enjoyed the characters in this one. I read it in a day. Solvay and Ayden were adorable. I cannot not give them a five out of five.

Language - one. I loved that there wasn't any language in this book! It was amazing and so refreshing as well!

Sexual Content - three out of five. A little too descriptive, but nothing horrible. Again, just a little uncomfy for me.

Overall Rating - four out of five stars!

Stolen Threadwitch Bride

By Clare Sager

Plot and Characters - Holy heck, did I love this idea! Ariadne and Lysander are so amazing and the idea that Ariadne is fae-touched with her magic and sewing was so neat. Lysander is literally so sweet and despite stealing his bride, he's trying so desperately to make Ariadne happy. It's beautiful. So give both the plot and the characters a five!

Language Content - a number of D words, gods and hells are also used. So I rate this a two out of three.

Sexual Content - ah and here is the part that frustrated me! Once again, there are very passionate descriptive kisses and that doesn't bother me. However, the fade to black sex scenes were so frustrating. I did finish this story, simply because by the time that happened, i was too invested. But if that kind of thing bothers you, steer clear of this story. I give it a four out of five for sexual content.

Overall Rating - four out of five stars

Stolen Thorn Bride

By Kenley Davidson

Plot - Honestly, this plot was a little basic but I also loved it! I loved that it wasn't insta love between the two main characters, but it was beautiful just the same. The only thing that would have made this book better would be an epilogue at the end to show the happily ever after. Four out of five for plot!

Characters - I loved them! Dechlan was grouchy but so sweet. Kasia was feisty and brave. Together, they were bold and passionate and so much fun to read! Seriously, they gave me an epic book hangover.

Language Content - One. There was absolutely no language in it! It was perfect.

Sexual Content - one to two. They don't kiss till the very end, but it is epic! I loved the growth of their emotional and physical attraction to each other.

Overall Rating - five out of five stars.

Stolen Mayfly Bride

Plot and Characters - Okay, the plot. It was intriguing. I liked the idea that the girl was cursed to sleep until she woke, once a year, never aging, never knowing the other 364 days that passed. It was interesting. What I didn't enjoy was how separate the characters were. They mention that the characters talk to each other in their dreams, but we never really get to see that beyond one conversation. By the end, they are madly in love, but he's met her a total of five times. But I do love Vidar and his personality and struggles. So over all, the plot is a five and the characters are a four.

Language Content - one

Sexual Content - they marry by the end and therefore they sleep in the same bed. There are a few passionate kisses, and the innuendo of more in the very end. So overall I give it a three out of five.

Overall Rating - four out of five stars.

Thank you so much for reading these content reviews! I hope that this helps you decide whether or not you want to read these books.

Happy reading!

Anna
